Antigua and Barbuda has been ranked among the most powerful passports in the Caribbean for 2026, placing fourth in a regional mobility ranking that underscores the growing global strength of Caribbean travel documents.

According to Antigua.news, estimates shared by Caribbean lifestyle platform Beauté Caraïbe indicate that holders of an Antiguan and Barbudan passport enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to approximately 154 destinations worldwide. The ranking places the twin-island nation behind only Barbados, the Bahamas, and St. Kitts and Nevis in the region.

Barbados topped the 2026 list with access to an estimated 162 destinations. The Bahamas followed in second place with approximately 158 destinations, while St. Kitts and Nevis secured third position with access to between 148 and 155 destinations.

Antigua and Barbuda's strong placement has been linked in part to its Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme, which remains one of the most internationally recognised in the Caribbean. The country's passport strength also reflects its extensive diplomatic relationships and visa-waiver agreements spanning Europe, the United Kingdom, and parts of Asia and the Americas.

Other Caribbean nations featured in the regional top 10 include Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, and Jamaica.

The report highlights that Caribbean passports continue to attract global interest due to their comparatively strong mobility benefits, particularly for travellers seeking easier access to Europe and other major destinations.

Several Eastern Caribbean nations on the list also operate Citizenship by Investment programmes, which have grown increasingly competitive as governments seek to attract foreign direct investment through economic citizenship initiatives.
