Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness has extended congratulations to Prime Minister Gaston Browne following the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party's sweeping victory in the country's general election, according to Antigua.news.

In a message issued after the results were confirmed, Holness commended Browne on securing a fourth consecutive term in office and on becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in Antigua and Barbuda's history.

"I look forward to the continued strengthening of the partnership between our countries as we advance our shared regional priorities," Holness said.

Browne led the ruling Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) to a dominant performance at the polls, capturing 15 parliamentary seats in a landslide victory. The opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) retained just one seat, held by party leader Jamale Pringle. The Barbuda People's Movement also held its lone seat in Barbuda, represented by Trevor Walker.

The decisive result further consolidates Browne's political standing both domestically and across the region. As reported by Antigua.news, additional congratulatory messages from Caribbean leaders are expected in the coming days.

The landslide outcome delivers the ABLP a strong renewed mandate as the administration prepares to embark on another term in office.
