Gaston Browne has been officially sworn in for a new term as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, following his party's landslide victory in Thursday's general elections. According to Antigua.news, the formal ceremony took place Friday morning, with Browne taking the oath of office before Governor General Sir Rodney Williams.
The swearing-in reaffirms Browne's leadership after the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) secured a commanding mandate from the electorate.
Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Steadroy Benjamin was also sworn in during the ceremony, resuming his position as one of the government's most senior legal officials.
The occasion marks the formal commencement of the new administration, with both men pledging to continue advancing the government's agenda in the interest of national development.
Additional Cabinet ministers are expected to be sworn in later this week, as the ABLP moves swiftly to fully reconstitute its governing team in the wake of its strong performance at the polls.
