Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Clement Joseph says all options remain on the table following the acquittal of two defendants in the high-profile Nigel Christian murder trial. According to Antigua Observer, Joseph has indicated he will seek legal advice before determining his next course of action.

Joseph told Observer Media he will consult with advisors as he weighs the possibility of appealing the acquittals handed down in the case. The trial produced a split outcome, with two defendants walking free while one was convicted.

Defence attorney Wendell Alexander has also signalled his intention to contest the one conviction returned by the court. Alexander confirmed he will mount a legal challenge against that verdict, setting the stage for further proceedings in the matter.

The Nigel Christian case has drawn significant public attention in Antigua and Barbuda. The mixed verdicts have left both the prosecution and the defence with grounds to pursue further legal action, meaning the matter is unlikely to be resolved in the near term.

As reported by Antigua Observer, both sides are now preparing their respective legal strategies following the conclusion of the trial proceedings.
