Independent candidate Alan Weston has officially launched his bid for the St. Paul constituency, vowing to put community results ahead of party loyalty in what is shaping up to be a competitive race.
According to Antigua Observer, Weston is mounting a challenge against Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate Everly Paul "Chet" Greene, as well as candidates from other parties competing in the constituency.
In an exclusive interview with Observer Media, Weston outlined his vision for St. Paul, positioning himself as an alternative to the entrenched party-political system he believes has long dominated the constituency. His campaign centers on breaking what he describes as the grip of partisan politics on the community, arguing that residents deserve representation driven by results rather than party allegiance.
Weston's entry into the race adds a notable independent voice to a constituency contest that will see him go up against established party machinery. Running without the backing of a major political organization, he is banking on a community-first message to resonate with voters in St. Paul.
