The United Progressive Party (UPP) possessed its own polling data forecasting its defeat in the general elections — and chose to ignore it. According to Antigua Observer, that is the claim of former diplomat Dr. McChesney Emanuel, who served as an advisor to UPP leader Jamale Pringle.
As reported by Antigua Observer, Dr. Emanuel said a poll he commissioned from Jamaican pollster Don Anderson indicated the party was on course to lose. Despite the findings, the UPP leadership reportedly did not act on the data ahead of the vote.
