Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has reaffirmed the United Progressive Party's (UPP) commitment to Antigua and Barbuda's working class, declaring that national progress can only be achieved through unity.

According to Antigua Observer, Pringle made the remarks while addressing members of the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union (ABWU) at the union's Labour Day rally. The occasion served as a platform for the UPP leader to salute trade unionists and signal his party's solidarity with the labour movement.

Pringle told attendees that the working people of Antigua and Barbuda remain central to the country's development, and that the UPP stands firmly behind their interests. His address underscored the opposition's efforts to position itself as a champion of workers' rights ahead of what is expected to be an increasingly competitive political landscape.

The ABWU's Labour Day rally brought together union members and supporters to mark the occasion and hear from political and labour leaders on issues affecting workers across the twin-island nation.
