A man who used social media to target and sexually abuse a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to 38 months in prison, according to Antigua Observer.
The man, who was 25 years old at the time of the offences, first made contact with the child in early 2022 through a social media platform. He subsequently sexually abused her on two separate occasions.
As reported by Antigua Observer, the case highlights the dangers posed to minors through unmonitored social media use, with the perpetrator exploiting online communication to gain access to his young victim before carrying out the abuse.
