Police are investigating the sudden death of Stanley "Abbott" Warner, a 65-year-old English Harbour resident and well-known political figure, who was found unresponsive inside his vehicle along All Saints Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to Antigua.news, Warner was discovered shortly after 5:20 a.m. when officers from the All Saints Police Station, conducting routine mobile patrol, observed a vehicle parked on the northern side of the road near the All Saints Pentecostal Church with its headlights on and engine running.
Concerned by the unattended vehicle, officers approached and found Warner alone inside and unresponsive. Emergency personnel were summoned to the scene, and a doctor subsequently pronounced him dead at approximately 8:10 a.m.
Investigators have so far found no signs of foul play, though authorities have confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death. Warner was last seen alive sometime after 10 p.m. on Friday.
The news has sent shockwaves through the community, particularly given the circumstances in which Warner was found. Police say investigations remain ongoing as they work to piece together the events leading up to his death.
