The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is advising the public that Kia America is recalling approximately 141,000 Kia Carnival SUVs due to a fuel pipe defect that poses a fire risk.
The recall covers Kia Carnival models manufactured between 2022 and 2026. The defect involves the fuel pipe connection to the fuel rail, which may leak fuel — and any such leakage from this connection increases the risk of a fire.
Official notification letters are expected to be mailed to registered owners in the United States beginning June 2, 2026. However, given the serious fire risk associated with the defect, the Division is urging local owners not to wait and to take proactive steps to address the issue.
Owners of affected vehicles are reminded that consumers are not required to pay for repairs carried out under a manufacturer's safety recall.
